PRINCE ALBERT PAGARA BATTLES RODOLFO "FOFO" HERNANDEZ IN ANOTHER TOUGH TEST

PhilBoxing.com

Fast rising young fighter Albert Pagara maybe relagated to a supporting bout and his fight will not be televised to give way to world champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes and former world titlist Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire during Pinoy Pride 30: D-Day.

But expect his encounter with hazardous Mexican foe Rodolfo "Fofo" Hernandez on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City to be an action-packed and exciting International Boxing Federation intercontinental superbantamweight title clash.

The 28-year-old Hernandez is no patsy with very impressive credentials. He is a former WBC interim Latino super bantamweight champion, a former WBC continental Americas super bantamweight champion and former WBO NABO super bantamweight titlist.

The Distrito Federal, Mexico native has knocked out 24 opponents in his 26 wins. He has 5 losses though, 4 of them via knockouts. He has an advantage in KO percentage at 72.73% compared to Pagara's 68.18%.

Pagara is the No. 7 IBF world contender aside from being the IBF intercontinental champion. The Prince of Philippine boxing is the No. 1 superbantamweight boxer in the Philippines as rated by BoxRec and No. 9 in the whole world as ranked by The Ring and BoxRec.
Fofo has stopped 14 of his opponents in the very first round including his last foe Mario Briones. Albert is undefeated since his amateur days and has 5 first round stoppages in his 15 KO wins.

With more quality adversaries, Pagara has the upperhand in this encounter. But ALA Gym is not overconfident because of Fofo's knockout record.

"I will stay focused on my training because the Mexican is very tough with several knockout wins," said Pagara. "We have studied the video of his fights and we have developed our strategies."

His home fans in Maasin City are all excited to see their favorite boxer display his thundering blows on his challenger even only on television. His uncle Walter Sepe, the barangay captain of his home village Lib-og said they will prepare lots of food when Albert comes home after the fight. "He loves to eat seafoods," disclosed Sepe. "He used to gather clams and mussels as a child and sell them on the market."

As what the fans in the whole country would do during the telecast of Pinoy Pride 30, the people of Maasin City will be glued to their TV sets. Though Pagara's fight was not scheduled to be aired, still they are hoping that the show will include The Prince in a last minute change that happened when he fought against Raul Hirales of Mexico in Pinoy Pride 28 and against Khunkhiri Wor Wisaruth of Thailand in Pinoy Pride 21.
