NBA -- Orlando spoils GSW's run

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Orlando Magic continues to be a thorn on the Golden State Warriors' side.

Gunning for their franchise-setting record of six consecutive road wins on a seven-game Eastern Conference trip, the Warriors fell to the Magic on Friday night, 99-85, at the Amway Center in Orlando. The Magic also beat the Warriors on December 3 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California.

"We didn't expect to go undefeated the rest of the way. We've had a great run. The key for us is not to allow a loss to take us back to where we once were," Golden State head coach Mark Jackson told NBA.com. The 15-8 Warriors remain at second place in the Pacific Division and they culminate their long road trip with a tiff against the Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday night.

After a slow start that netted just 14 first quarter points, Golden State couldn't get any offense going. It shot just 34 of 92 from the field (37 percent) and 7-for-20 from 3-land (35 percent).

The Magic, who ended a four-game losing spell at home, took advantage and nailed 41 of 86 shots (47.7 percent) including 9-for-21 from above the 3-point arc. Orlando also owned the boards, 53-49, and dished more assists, 26-19.

The Warriors' leading scorers -- Stephen Curry and David Lee -- combined for 49 points, but besides Jarret Jack who chipped in 12, nobody else among the Warriors finished in double figures in points,

J.J. Redick paced the Magic with only 16 points, but he had plenty of help. E'Twaun Jones and Andrew Nicholson tallied 15 points each. Nicholson also added nine rebounds and four blocks to his haul while Arron Afflalo had 14 points, seven rebounds and two assists.

The win improved Orlando's record to a modest 8-13, third to the last in the Eastern Conference's Southeast Division. (Joan Secuya-Medida)
