NBA -- Is World Peace headed back to the Lakers?
By Joan Secuya-Medida PhilBoxing.com Wed, 26 Aug 2015

SAN FRANCISCO -- Metta World Peace, the baller better known formerly as Ron Artest, may be coming back soon to an NBA arena near you.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the purple-and-gold franchise is mulling the possibility of signing the 35-year old to a one-year contract. Kobe Bryant, wrote Adrian Wojrinawski, reportedly welcomes the idea "with enthusiasm."
World Peace and Kobe go a long way back. They were teammates in the Lakers' 2010 championship run. And while World Peace has had some injuries issues in his colorful past, he may still have enough left to help the Lakers at the small forward position.
World Peace was drafted by the Chicago Bulls (Round 1,18th overall) in 1999. He has also played for the Indiana Pacers, the Sacramento Kings, the Houston Rockets, the L.A. Lakers and the New York Knicks, where he last played in the 2013-14 season.
After being waived by the Knicks, World Peace played in China (Sichuan Blue Whales) and in Italy (Pallacanestro) last year. (JSM)
