NBA -- Warriors soar to 35-2 behind Curry's 38 points

SAN FRANCISCO -- Steph Curry showed the stuff legends are made of.

The league's reigning MVP sank 8 triples on the way to 38 points and the Golden State Warriors dumped the Sacramento Kings, 128-116, on Saturday night at the Sleep Train Arena.

Curry's heroics, which included 11 assists and 6 rebounds, pushed the Warriors' record to 35-2, the best start in NBA history.

"Steph was making his jumper. And when he does, he's tough to stop," teammate Andrew Bogut told NBA.com after Golden State captured its sixth consecutive win, three on the road.

After holding a shaky 60-58 halftime lead, the Warriors exploded with a 36-26 third quarter run to open things up. Draymond Green finished with 25 while Klay Thompson had a relatively quiet 15. Andre Iguodala pitched in 13 points off the bench.

DeMarcus Cousins put up big numbers for Sacramento with 33 points and 10 rebounds. Rudy Gay knocked down 23 and Darren Collison finished with 16. Rajon Rondo was held to just four points but the All-Star point guard distributed a game-high 12 assists.

The Kings dropped to 15-22, just 1.5 games behind the No.8 seed in the Western Conference.
