Post Fight Report and Pictures - Spectacular “See The Rise” sent opponents Falling Down

Mississauga, Canada - “See the Rise” gave the boxing fans in Mississauga, Ontario spectacular knock out performances from our home town pugilists who chalked up career wins. The jam packed Hershey Center witnessed dominating performances that will be remembered for quite some time from boxers Filipino Junmar Emon, Brandon Cook, Samuel Vargas, Denton Daily and Logan McGuinness in the Main Event who successfully retained his NABA Super Featherweight Title.

The fight card put on by United Promotions and Hennessy Sports was broadcasted live by Rogers Cable, the replay will be on Sportsnet Television Network on Sun, May 20, Tues. May 30 and Sat. June 2 at 10 p.m.

Samuel Vargas (10-0, 4KO) Mississauga, ON (Undefeated) vs. Arvydas Trizno (14-8) Lithvania - 6 ROUNDS

Vargas controlled much of the fight. The first round was uneventful, which had Vargas establishing ring control and employing combinations with two hooks to either side of his body followed by an uppercut or cross. The second round saw much of the same work with Trizno landing a couple powerful straight rights, however Vargas proved to work more and harder around Trizno’s guard. It was in the third round that the exchanges started coming in heavy from both pugilists with a back and forth frenzy. While Vargas backed Trizno onto the ropes and delivered a solid left hook to the body, Trizno dropped which looked unassuming yet Trizno never recovered and the referee signaled a stop to the fight. Vargas remains undefeated improving his record to 11-0.

Denton Daley (5-0, 2KO) Brampton, ON (Undefeated) VS. Frank White (7-6, 5KO) Sarnia, ON - 8 ROUNDS

An incidental headbutt care of White to Daley’s face started off the bout. Almost immediately a mouse developed over White’s left eyebrow. Daley came back and threw punches with amazing ferocity. The second round had White receive some incredible power shots from which White had little response. In the early rounds Daley out classes White with his demonstration of skill and power. White is able to land a strong right hook that looks powerful enough to keep him in the game. White picks up the pace and is staying in rhythm with Daley, but has not won a round. The mouse over White’s eye became grotesquely swollen. The left eye bled profusely and White never returned for round seven. Daley wins in the sixth round by TKO and remains undefeated improving to 6-0.

Logan “Cotton” McGuinness (16-0-1, 8KO) Orangeville, ON (Champion) VS. Meacher Major “Pain” (20-4-1, 17 KO) Buffalo, NY (Challenger)
12 ROUNDS NABA TITLE/Commonwealth Title Eliminator Match Up

McGuiness took the fight to his opponent Major early working feverishly and keeping the pressure constant on his opponent’s guard. With a few well-placed combinations McGuinness stunned Major and made the challenger shell up into full defensive guard. The crowd roared to their feet. The constant grind paid off because half way through the round McGuinness dropped Major to the canvas. The impact was so devastating that it took Major a full ten count to rise. He made the count, but his legs were not at full strength wobbling as he walked towards the referee, yet strong enough to have the match resume. McGuinness jumped on top of Major once the referee backed out and the Canadian kid delivered a non-stop barrage of power punches. The crowd was so loud that the bell rung and the referee did not hear it for several seconds after the fact. In the second round Major tried to answer, but only found himself in deeper water. McGuinness held Major in his own corner and once again landed enough severe power punches that the referee was forced to wave off the match resulting from Major’s inability to intelligently defend himself. The contest is stopped via TKO at the end of the second round. McGuiness retains his title via TKO and enhances his record to 17-0, 8 KO.

In attendance was recently turned pro Filipino Canadian Marc Pagcaliwangan and his father Henry from London, Ontario. Pagcaliwangan is the younger and second Filipino boxer who is currently in training camp eagerly waiting to make his Pro debut in Ontario, Canada. He has been training and sparring with some of the best talents available in Ontario including the NABA Super Featherweight Champion Logan McGuinness. Watch out for his first fight as Marc Pagcaliwangan will not disappoint.

Also in attendance was the notorious 48 year old Canadian Heavyweight Donavan “Razor” Ruddock who was seated ringside and eagerly awaiting his comeback. Ruddock has made it know that he will be in pursue of the Canadian Heavyweight Title that Neven Pajkic currently holds.
