FIGHT RESULTS AND PICTURES FROM UNITED BOXING PROMOTIONS FIGHT CARD - HERSHEY CENTRE By Socrates Celestial PhilBoxing.com Mon, 30 Mar 2015  McGuinness connects with a solid left hook on Juarez. Mississauga, Canada -- MAIN EVENT: Luis Armando Juarez (19-8) Argentina versus Logan McGuinness (20-0) Orangeville. 8 Rounds: Coming off a difficult hiatus due to injuries and the death of his cherished manager, McGuinness came back to the ring with a new resolve and new management. Some questioned what the undefeated fighter would look like with an almost 2 year layoff. He did not disappoint. Without skipping a beat McGuinness burst back in with ring generalship that bullied the visiting Juarez to the ropes from the beginning bell. Juarez tried to set it off early with heavy body punches, but the quick Canadian had an impervious defense that left little room for any punch to land. The majority of the fight was won and battled within a foot of each other utilizing their inside punches. In the second round McGuinness drops his opponent and the time keeper starts pounding the canvas beginning the official knockdown count. The referee picks up Juarez and cleans him off calling the fall as a slip. The time keeper himself looked confused. Juarez feeling the pressure from the confident opposition resorts to holding. The excessive holding garnishes disapproving boos from the crowd and results in a point deduction from the referee in the sixth round. The Argentinian puts forth an aggressive effort, but it?s not enough to keep up with the clean counter punching of McGuiness. The return of ?Cotton? McGuiness is successful and the pugilist looks unchanged and strong, winning unanimously and ending an electric night at the Hershey Center.  Filipino Canadian Junmar "El Toro" Emon connects with a right hook on Kevin Higson. CO-MAIN EVENT: Junmar Eamon (6-1) Toronto versus Kevin Higson (5-0) Hamilton. 8 Rounds: The fan favourite fight of the night, this bout had it all. Intensity, back and forth action and even moments of comical interaction. The two pugilist created a war. Eamon moved constantly forward with lunging shots that landed with ferocity. Higson used savvy footwork and lateral movement with flurries of quick combinations. This fight made the fans cheer and chant their choice of fighter by name. The stadium was divided vocalizing who they supported. Eamon?s strategy was using elusive foot and head combinations that allowed him to set up looping hooks that lacked full-time accuracy but when it found its mark, resounding with a thunderous clap. Higson the busier fighter lacked the same thudding power, but kept busy with a constant barrage of straight punches and hooks. Higson won a unanimous decision with many boos and cheers alike. Higson landed with more accuracy and remained busier between the two boxers. Bruno Leonardo Romay (8-3) Argentina versus Ryan Young (6-0) Oakville. 6 Rounds: From the start of the bell Young took tactical advantage constantly backing up and beating the Argentinian south-paw. In the second round Young was able to throw a devastating combination that sent Romay to the canvas for a knockdown. Romay rallied back in the third round and fought back landing lead right hooks. Young with an iron jaw walked through them and continued to batter the smaller boxer. Young continues the ring generalship into the fourth round constantly keeping Romay on the ropes. They have a battle of crosses with power being thrown from the rear straight hand from both fighters and Young scores a late knockdown at the end of the round. Young finishes with great intelligence and brilliance. His pugilism pushes Romay to strictly defense and eating unrelenting combinations. Young displays patience, body work and great ring I.Q and wins a unanimous decision. He improves to 7(6)-0 and continues his undefeated career.  Donovan "Razor" Ruddock knocks out Raymond Olubowale. Ray Olubowale (10-6) Toronto versus Donovan Ruddock (38-5) Toronto. 6 Rounds: The thudding power or Olubowale was a constant factor. His devastating body punches could be heard into the top bleachers of the stadium. Ruddock seemed to have slick movement but took too much damage over the rounds and got knocked down in the fourth stanza. One minute into the fifth round the throwback fighter ?Razor? Ruddock landed a stunning right uppercut that stopped Olubowale and crashed the titan to the canvas. Struggling to his feet ?Mount Kilimanjaro? could not prove to referee Mark Simmons that he could continue and thus referee Simmons stops the contest. The result is a fifth round TKO win for Donovan ?Razor? Ruddock (39-5). Ruddock exclaimed to this journalist when asked what he?d like to say to all his fans he responded with ?I?m glad to be back!? screaming at the top of his lungs.  Richard Romallo of Argentina KO's Steve Franjic in his second consecutive loss at the Hershey Centre. Richard Ramallo (16-6) Argentina versus Steve Franjic (12-1) Orangeville. 8 Rounds: Ramallo wins stopping Franjic in the first round at 1:15 seconds. This is the second time that Franjic has been knocked down in his last two fights. Franjic was caught moments earlier with a jab-cross combination that hurt him and Ramallo followed up with a left hook that dropped the Orangeville native. Franjic fell in an awkward fashion with his right leg bent back. Getting to his feet there was clear evidence of a damage because Franjic began limping rising from the knockdown. Ramallo pressed the fight and Franjic seemed to try to hold on in vain. Franjic?s corner throws in the towel to save their fighter forcing the referee to stop the contest resulting in a TKO. Ramallo earns his win and moves up to 17-6, Franjic 12-2. Travis Connors (7-3) New Brunswick versus Tim Cronin (3-1) Etobicoke. 6 Rounds: Connors, the heavy set East coast Canadian, showed his limited boxing skill against a decisive Cronin. Connors swung wildly never hitting his intended target, which only gave Cronin the openings he needed. Tim Cronin wobbles Connors in the second and earns the knockdown 53 seconds into round number three. Cronin now stands at 4 ? 1. Diego Vicente Perez (8-6) Argentina versus Josh O?Reilly (2-0) Hamilton. 4 Rounds: Josh O?Reilly finishes his fight with a dramatic knockdown in the fourth and last round which looked as though he had stopped Perez. This should have earned the Canadian a knockout, however referee Donavan Boucher allowed the fighter to continue and confused the time keeper in the process. The official decision is a unanimous win for O?Reilly. Judges unanimously have O?Reilly 24-30 on all scorecards. O?Reilly improves to 3 ? 0 remaining undefeated in three professional bouts.
