The Pacman Breaks Camp, All Set to Blaze New Glory!

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES -- Manny Pacquiao, after spending full three weeks in LA had his final training day today and immediately broke camp. He then gave instructions for his team to prepare to fly to San Antonio, Texas to meet Jorge Solis in a “Blaze of Glory!

Today, on his final training day at the Wildcard, Justin Fortune requested the media for a photo black out during the sparring session with David Rodela. But, he allowed them to take pictures while Pacquiao was shadow boxing, doing his bit with the double bag and conditioning exercises with actor Mario Lopez of the “Dancing with the Starts” fame.

Pacquiao looks trimmed and ready to finish his business with Solis. Although Pacquiao has other imminent business in General Santos to attend to immediately after the fight, none of that seems to matter. The man is just simply focused of the immediate task ahead -- Jorge Solis at the Alamo Dome.

As they say in the vernacular -- “Labang-laban na” meaning, he is all set and ready to rumble. Even trainer Buboy Fernandez indicated that indeed Pacquiao is in top shape. “Ayos na ang kondisyon ni Manny” ( Manny is in good shape ).

Pacquiao appeared relaxed and even joked around with people who are amongst those in his circle of friends as he went on with his shadow boxing. And, he seemed to savor the fact that many fans and supporters are there on his final training day, including of course the numerous autograph seekers.

A pundit at the gym said: “Sa kondisyon ni Manny, ang talo lang niya ay pag di siya sumipot sa laban” (With Manny’s present condition, the only way for him to lose is if he does not show up for the fight).

Pacquiao is set to fly to San Antonio with Team Pacquiao on Sunday via a commercial flight from LAX. News reports indicate that with his early presence in San Antonio, he may even have time to see a Spurs basketball game during the week before the fight. That would certainly drum up the ticket sales.

It has been reported that ticket sales had been very good although “some” floor level seats can still be had at regular prices. If such fairly good reports are indeed true, then the Pacman will be displaying his talents against Solis before a fairly good crowd. For a not so-well known Solis as an opponent, that is not so bad at all. Kudos to Bob Arum and Top Rank!

Pacquiao has indicated to this writer that he would like to put up a good showing against Solis but he refused to predict the final outcome. “Pipilitin kong gumanda ang laban para masiyahan ang mga fans at mga kababayan natin”. ( I will do my best to put up a good fight so my fans and the people back home will enjoy the fight).

From what this writer saw during Pacquiao’s three weeks in training, that certainly could very well happen because Pacquiao has put up the amount of work necessary to make the fight as exciting as ever.

And, he wants to go back home to GenSan as soon as possible to attend to some pressing issues!
