Palacios Teams Up with John Scully!

PhilBoxing.com

Orlando, FL (August 21, 2014) ? Cruiserweight contender Francisco ?The Wizard? Palacios is now training under the tutelage of John Scully.

Palacios, 21-2 (13 KO?s), returns to the squared circle after a 2 year layoff to face James Johnson for the USBU cruiserweight title in the 8 round main event of a card Saturday, September 20 at the Mela Room in his hometown of Orlando, FL.

Dubbed as the ?Iceman?, Scully was 38-11 as a prizefighter, and is known as one of the most knowledgeable voices boxing. Since retiring from swapping punches in 2001 Scully?s trained world champions Chad Dawson and Jose Rivera, as well as contenders Mike Oliver, Matt Godfrey and Ray Oliveira amongst many others.

Palacios said of his new trainer, ?I think John is going to get me to the next level and I?ve wanted to make it to the top since I was an amateur. I believe he?s the kind of trainer that can help in every aspect. I have a lot of faith in him and have only heard great things. I?m excited to have him as my head trainer.?

Scully is also upbeat about working with another top tier talent.

?I?ve known Francisco (since he was an amateur). I?m looking forward to working with him. We?d crossed paths numerous times and he?s been working out at the gym I train guys out of. He?s a hard worker and I think this will be a good fit. We had a nice talk comparing philosophies and he seems on board. He has a name and a good amateur background. I am going to do my best for him and if he still has the desire to make it to the top I believe we?ll get there.?
