Fist of Power, the new weekly one-hour television boxing program which is broadcast throughout China, will presents its first live boxing event on Tuesday, August 26. Emanating from the Mercedes-Benz Center in Shanghai, China, the live telecast of Fist of Power will feature Ik Yang (15-0, 9 KOs), of Dalian China in a 10-round junior welterweight bout against Sukkasem Kietyongyuth (13-2, 8 KOs), of Roi-Et, Thailand. The co-main event will feature top ten contenders Randy Petalcorin (21-1-1, 16 KOs), of General Santos, Philippines, battling Walter Tello (20-7, 8 KOs), of Puerto Armuelles, Panama for the vacant WBA interim light flyweight world title. Fist Power is the latest joint venture from Top Rank, SECA and Sands China Ltd., who have been building the growth of boxing in the People?s Republic of China by producing and promoting six world championship events in Macao over the past 15 months. ?I am excited to be the main fighter on the debut live telecast of Fist of Power. I am not going to disappoint my supporters!? said Yang, who is trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach. Exclusively sponsored by Sands China Ltd, and promoted by Top Rank, SECA and G-Sports, the Fist of Power live telecast will be a full world championship event production and will be broadcast throughout China via regional channels in major cities like Beijing Shanghai and Guangzhou. Top Rank and with SECA, Zou Shiming?s? agent and Chinese professional sports marketing company want to bring Chinese fans the exciting boxing experience of Las Vegas to Shanghai. Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum promised an exact replica of a championship night of boxing such as it is in the U.S. ?We can?t wait to go to Shanghai to present this world-class boxing event,? said Arum. ?We believe Fist of Power should share the same spectacular features as our Top Rank-produced events where great fighters like Manny Pacquiao, Miguel Cotto, Zou Shiming, Vasyl Lomachenko have fought. Production values, including lighting effects and background music will absolutely meet the standards developed by Top Rank.? G-Sports, a Shanghai-based sport TV channel, will produce a documentary to recap Fist of Power?s debut live telecast and it will be seen on dozens of regional sports channels throughout China. ?Sands China fully supports Chinese professional sports.
