Jam-Packed Fight Card with Six Scheduled Bouts!

PhilBoxing.com

(San Diego) - In less than a year, California boxing hall of fame promoter Bobby DePhilippis and his company, Bobby D. Presents, have become in one of the most prominent female fight promoters in the country. So much so that in their recent annual convention held in Chicago, the NABF (North American Boxing Federation) named Mr. DePhilippis the female fight promoter of the year. In just six months, Mr. DePhilippis has presented three title fights including the junior flyweight title won by Kenia Enriquez, the straw weight captured by Amaris Quintana and last month the flyweight belt won by Chantal Cordova. In the next edition of "San Diego Fights" scheduled for Thursday, September 4th, at the only home for local boxing in San Diego, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Mission Valley, Bobby D. Presents features "Dangerous Divas" when former two-time world champion Jolene "Classy Assassin" Blackshear (8-5, 3KO) of San Diego comes back in the six round main event.

Blackshear captured the IFBA light flyweight title in just her third fight back in 1997 and after losing it in her third defense, took a nine year break from the sport. She came back with a vengeance as she defeated current WBO flyweight champ Melissa McMorrow in her first fight back and since then has not looked back earning wins over Lili Barajas, Linda Soto and Riverside's Sindy Amador, the current IFBA 108lb champ. In her second fight of the year, Blackshear will face the tough Susan Reno (1-2-1) of New York in the light flyweight division over six rounds. Reno is no stranger to "America's Finest City" since last April she faced the "Diamond Girl" Amaris Quintana in one of the best local female fights of the year last April.

In the co-main event, the fast rising world-ranked Tijuana fighter Kenia Enriquez (11-0, 6KO) will face former world straw weight champion Mayela "La Cobrita" Perez (11-15-4, 7KO) in a true test of her talent over eight rounds. The WBC#6/IBF#5/WBA#6 light flyweight in the world Enriquez just captured the NABF title over a 7th round TKO of Blackshear but in Perez she will face her most experienced foe to date. With thirty fights to her credit, she triples Kenia's experience as a pro while facing the best in her division such as Naoko Fujioka, Sindy Amador, Ibeth Zamora, Jessica Chavez, Carina Moreno and the aforementioned Melissa McMorrow.
