 Katsidis.
Toowoomba's former 2 x WBO lightweight world champion and current WBU junior welterweight champion Michael Katsidis "The Great", is once again ready to take on the world. Fresh off his 12 round victory over long time rival Graham Earl for the WBU crown, his second fight back after a brief break from the sport, Katsidis is eyeing off potential match ups with Englishman Derry Mathews, former lightweight champ and foe Juan Diaz and hard hitting warrior Brandon Rios.
Michael's manager Brendon Smith said these fights very much interest his boxer.
"All three of these fights are an interest to us," said Smith.
"I have had positive discussions with the Diaz and Mathews camps."
"Michael has always had a burning desire for a rematch with Juan Diaz. We felt Michael won the first fight and feel that the rematch would be another great fight."
"Obviously styles make fights and a fight between Brandon Rios and Michael Katsidis has classic written all over it. This would be a great fight and one that needs to be made for the fans."
"There is also a lot of interest in a fight with Derry Mathews. Michael is known as 'The Britt Basher' and Derry Mathews is another good British fighter Michael would like on his resume."
Regardless of the opponent, Katsidis' team are setting for a ring return for October this year.
