DRIAN FRANCISCO RETURNS SATURDAY AGAINST MANUEL HERRERA

PhilBoxing.com

Aug 1, 2014, Newark, CA -- Top Filipino Boxing Contender Drian "Gintong Kamao" Francisco and Manuel de los Reyes Herrera weigh in for their upcoming fight on "Night of Glory: Battle For the Golden State" at the Double Tree Hotel in Newark, CA. Francisco weighed in at 118 lbs. and Herrera came in at 118.5 lbs.

"I'm ready because of my trainer Justin Fortune," the 31 year-old Batangas native said in regards to being prepared for his upcoming fight with Herrera. "I am very well conditioned."

Despite the yearlong layoff since his last fight, Francisco said he is in great shape due to the extended training time he utilized for this bout.

Francisco, who is looking to bounce back after his loss to Chris Avalos for the WBO/NABO Super Bantamweight title last September, understands his mistakes and is looking to overcome them.

"In my last fight, I gassed out and was out of breath. This time we will keep those flaws in check," he said with confidence.

Fortune, who is also Manny Pacquiao's strength/conditioning trainer, felt Francisco is ready for his fight due the tough southpaw sparring he received during training camp.

"He is doing very well. He is in shape. He is on weight. There is no problems," Fortune said in regards to his fighter's current state before the fight.

Francisco (24-1-1, 19 KOs) said he will also not underestimate Herrera, (21-13-1, 15 KOs) despite his record.

"This will be a great fight," he said in regards to his Columbian opponent having a high knockout ratio. "We will see who gets knocked out first."

The fight will be held in the Exhibition Hall at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA. this Saturday. Doors open at 4:30 pm. The first fight is on 5:00 pm.
