SONSONA TO FIGHT FOR A WORLD TITLE ELIMINATOR

Marvin Sonsona is headed for another lucky break. A few months from now, he will be fighting for a title eliminator in the featherweight division against Jayson Velez, the winner to be the mandatory challenger against the reigning WBC Champion Johnny Gonzalez. A reliable source confirmed that negotiations for this fight have begun.
This is the biggest chance for Sonsona since losing his bid for the WBO junior bantamweight belt in 2010 to Wilfredo Vasquez,Jr of Puerto Rico. Just last February 22, 2014, Sonsona made an impact with his sensational fourth round knockout of Akifumi Shimoda in Macau. He likewise got his revenge and won against his lone tormentor, Vasquez, for the NABF Featherweight belt on the undercard of the Sergio Martinez vs. Miguel Cotto card in Madison Square Garden in New York last June 07.
It is up to Sonsona now if he wants to be a world champ again. If he wins this eliminator, then he will be gunning for the WBC World Featherweight belt next.
