PhilBoxing.com Thu, 03 Jul 2014
Newark, NJ (July 2, 2014) ? Welterweight up and comer Michael ?Slick? Anderson of Newark returns to the ring Saturday, July 19 at the Parsippany Police Athletic League when he battles an opponent to be named in an eight round contest.
The card is promoted by All Out Promotions and Edmonds Promotions. Tickets starting at $40 are available by calling 862-766-0145. The opening bell is scheduled for 7 pm with doors opening an hour prior.
A former New Jersey Golden Gloves Champion, Anderson?s 13-2 with 10 wins by knockout. The President of the ?Show Off Riders? Motorcycle Club, Anderson has sensational hand speed and is backed by a strong local following in the Garden State. Last November, Anderson, who spoke at multiple schools in Newark as part of the ?Fight for Attendance? initiative, scored a spirited split decision against hard-hitting George Sosa.
In the chief supporting bout, popular unbeaten super middleweight John Magda puts his 8-0 record on the line in a six round contest. Magda, who is one of power broker Al Haymon?s newest signees, is fresh off a dramatic fourth round stoppage of Taneal Goyco on June 27. The East Rutherford, NJ native will face an opponent to be named.
Knockout artist Bobby Gunn Jr, popular cruiserweight Dave Valykeo, lightweight Sonny Frederickson and Bienvenido Diaz are all scheduled to appear in separate matches. More information on opponents and additional bouts will be announced shortly.
?This is our first time doing a card at the PAL and I?m expecting a sellout,? said Michael Daugherty, CEO of All Out Promotions. ?We?ve got an excellent mix of talent from different neighborhoods and backgrounds to maximize fan interest. The venue is perfect for a fight card since there isn?t a bad seat in the house. Ticket sales have been strong and we?re already looking into adding extra seating.?
The Parsippany PAL is located at 33 Baldwin Road Parsippany, NJ 07054.
