IBF GIVES RING TO CASIMERO

Gibbons (R) pose with Casimero's IBF ring at the Affinia Manhanttan Hotel in New York last Saturday, June 7. Gibbon's received Casimero's ring during the last IBF annual convention held in Atlantic City, Jersey last month. The IBF awarded the ring to Casimero for Casimero's three successful defenses of his IBF light flyweight title he won from Luis Alberto Lazarte of Argentina on Feb. 10, 2012. Casimero defended the title against Pedro Guevarra of Mexico, Luis Alberto Rios of Panama and Felipe Salguerro of Mexico. Casimero was stripped of the title last month when he failed to make weight against Mauricio Fuentes of Mexico in Cebu City. Casimero however knocked out Fuentes in the first round when they fought at the Waterfront Hotel on May 3, 2014 (bottom photo).
