It is shaping up to be one of the biggest cards in Toowoomba?s boxing history and now current WBC World youth silver featherweight champion ?The Great White? Brayd Smith is set to defend his title on the undercard of ?Smithy Brings the Big fights 7? on July 4 in Toowoomba.
This will mark the first title defense for Smith, undefeated in 9
fights with 7 wins by KO, who won the WBC world youth silver title with an impressive first round KO over Filipino Gabriel
Altarejos in October last year.
Under WBC rules boxer must defend a world youth title every
120 days however Brayd was granted an extension by the WBC to take on the more experienced Argentinian Jose Saez in March. The bout which saw Brayd hear the final bell for only the second time of his career, proved a great learning experience that now sees him more ready then ever to defend his crown.
