Kakutani 135, Arienza 135 For WBC Youth World Title in Benguet

PhilBoxing.com

"The Samurai" Takaya Kakutani (7-3, 6 KO's) from Osaka, Japan, and fearless 23-year-old Filipino southpaw Jeffrey "The Bull" Arienza (10-2-1, 5 KO's) weighed-in at identical 135 lbs for their clash of the green WBC Youth World Lightweight belt tomorrow (Sunday May 4) at La Trinidad Municipal Gym in Benguet, Philippines. Both fighters looked focused and in great shape, making the limit of the lightweight division in their first try.

In the co-main event, hard-hitting 24-year-old Rex Wao (8-0, 7 KO's) of Tadian, Mountain Province and tough as nails Jovill Marayan of Malolos City, Bulacan, tipped the scales at 123 lbs for their non-title 10-rounder in super bantamweight division.

In another high-octane rumble, tall Japanese flyweight Yuya Nakamura made 112 lbs while Pinoy warrior Benjie Bartolome scaled in at 111 lbs for their fight for the Philippines Luzon Professional Boxing Association (LuzProBA) 112-pound belt.

Promoter Brico Santig of Highland Boxing shared:

"We are happy to have this exciting international boxing event this Sunday here in La Trinidad, Benguet Provnice. Japan boxers are real warriors and sportsmen and they come to the Philippines to win. Our Filipino boxers are all true professional fighters too, very willing to engage. Fans will be the biggest winner."

In addition to pro-fights, exciting Muay Thai battles and amateur clashes will entertain the fights in an exciting evening of boxing for the whole family.

Doors at La Trinidad Municipal Gym open at 6pm.

The event tomorrow (Sunday May 4) at La Trinidad is a production of Highland Boxing Promotions and promoter Naris Singwancha in association with the Municipality of La Trinidad and V.I.E.S. Consultancy office with special thanks to Mr. Jay Sobrepena, Camp Johnhay Manor, Happy Homes Development and Training Center Inc.
