Filipino Brico Santig (R) captured the WBC Asian Boxing Council Promoter of the Year Award during the official ceremony held Wednesday (April 9) in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.

Brico Santig - one of the most active young promoters in the Philippines - is the manager and promoter of the reigning Filipino IBO Jr. Flyweight World Champion Rey Loreto (18-13, 10 KO's).

Several weeks ago, Brico took Loreto to Monaco and there in Europe Loreto destroyed the world champion in three rounds, bringing glory and real pride to Filipino boxing fans.

Brico is also head and managing director of Highland Boxing Gym located in La Trinidad, Benguet Province.

His gym is one of the most spirited, disciplined and lively boxing gyms in the country, which produces exciting fighters who battle in intense cards all over the country of the Philippines, a boxing loving nation that has produced real fighting legends as Pancho Villa (78-4-4, 22 KO's) and Ceferino Garcia (119-30-14, 74 KO's).

In addition, Brico's Highland Boxing is prolific in producing exciting boxing events throughout the year. No surprise, this is the third year in a row that the jovial Brico is honored with the prestigious recognition.

"I share this special WBC award with my family, wife, daughter and my dear boxers. They make all in my life possible. Also, it's a blessing to be recognized and supported by an organization as prestigious as the World Boxing Council (WBC). This award encourages me to keep on doing my best in promoting boxing in Asia and in my country The Philippines," said the 38-year-old Brico today Wednesday.
