NBA -- Rockets hold off Warriors, 116-112
By Ryan Medida PhilBoxing.com Sun, 15 Dec 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- This time there were no comebacks. And not even a 39-point fourth quarter can save the Golden State Warriors.
James Harden exploded for 26 points while setting up teammates with nine assists to lead the visiting Houston Rockets over the Warriors, 116-112, Friday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
The Rockets, who improved to 16-8, also got 23 from Chandler Parsons and 16 from Patrick Beverley. Dwight Howard added 18 and 11 boards and he surprisingly made all seven of his free throws.
David Lee was the main man for Golden State with 23 and 10 rebounds while Harrison Barnes had an impressive 20 and 12 boards. Andrew Bogut chipped in 10.
Known as the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson finished with 20 and 15 respectively but the dynamic duo made only two of their 12 attempts from three-point range.
Besides being unable to contain Harden and Howard, the Warriors, who fell to 13-11 for the season, were done in by 18 turnovers. (RM)
