ALA Promotions' IDOL to air on Studio 23

ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN is proud to present the long-awaited boxing telecast of IDOL Boxing Series. ABS-CBN's sister network Studio 23 will carry its nationwide TV airing on Saturday, September 14, 11:30 am -1:30 pm. The 2-hour long telecast ? dubbed ?IDOL 1: Philippines Vs Indonesia ? is a co-production between Asia's premier boxing promotional outfit ALA Promotions and Studio 23.
?This show will serve as a vehicle for young fighters to make a name for themselves and for the boxing fans to watch and pick their IDOLS,? said ALA Promotions President and CEO Michael Aldeguer during the IDOL press launch last August 8, 2013.
With six programs already lined-up, IDOL Boxing Series will not just sustain high-caliber fight cards but also give exposure to the less known yet highly talented boxers from all over the Philippines.
IDOL TV aims to lead to increasingly larger shows with strong, loyal following as confidence in the product is built. ALA Promotions has recognized the adverse long-term effect of isolating boxing from the mainstream by sealing a multi-year contract with the network to continuously showcase our unknown local boxers and make them known. The show is a big leap to nurture the Philippines' next generation of the best boxing prospects. This is looking at the bigger picture. With IDOL, fans can now follow and watch their chosen boxer in their quest for a world title. This fresh concept brings a different dimension to the prospect's journey. Before these fighters go international, fans can already watch them fight, follow them, see them ? not just hear about them. They become instant heroes in their hometown.
There is buzz going around about who could be the next big thing in Philippine boxing.
