EMIL ROMANO ASKS PROMOTER TO HOLD 30 PERCENT OF JOSE OCAMPO?S PURSE
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 16 May 2013

Former boxer and now manager/trainer Emil Romano has asked that 30 percent of the purse of boxer Jose Ocampo who faces Japan?s Koseki Nakama at the Convention Center in Okinawa in an eight round bout on June 2 be withheld on his behalf.
In an email to a certain Mr. Nakama (presumably the promoter) with copies furnished to this reporter as well as matchmaker Joe Koizumi and the Philippine Games and Amusements Board, Romano said ?I am allowing boxer Jose Ocampo to fight in Okinawa on June 2, 2013, without my signature on it, only because of my friendship and trust of Mr. Nakama."
Romano added "since I am the registered manager of said boxer, (please take note that Sammy Gelloani is only the promoter), I am entitled to receive 30% from the boxer's purse. Therefore, Mr. Nakama, I would like to request you to hold the 30% on my behalf.?
He also attached a copy of the boxer-manager contract filed with the GAB.
The 23 year old Ocampo is the reigning WBO Asia Pacific super featherweight champion having won the interim title with a 4th round TKO of Weng Haya after dropping Haya twice in round 3 and once in round four. He has a record of 17-5-1 with 12 knockouts and is coming off a 4th round TKO of Donriel Marcos last September 26.
The 32 year old Nakama has a record of 15-4 with 6 knockouts and is himself coming off an eight round unanimous decision win over Robert Kopa Palue of Indonesia last November 18. However, prior to the Palue fight, Nakama lost three fights in a row according to boxrec.com
