Nonito Donaire and Guillermo Rigondeaux will square off tonight here in one of the city's popular destination in their much anticipated unification bout. But before they do, here are the results of tonight?s undercard fights from The Big Apple.

DE LEON vs. BAIER

The night opened with unbeaten Erick De Leon (2-0, 1 KO) of Detroit, MI pummeling Diamond Baier (2-4-1, 0 KO) of Phoenix, AZ with head and body shots from the initial bell Of their scheduled 4 round lightweight bout. De Leon swept the score sheets with a 40-36 , 40-36 and 40-34 mark in all of the judges' cards at ringside to keep his winning record intact in the initial slug fest here in New York.

ZEWSKI vs. SOSTRE

Mikael Zewski (18-0, 14 KO)of Trois-Rivieres, Canada silenced the early New York crowd by knocking out hometown fighter, Daniel Sostre (11-8-1, 4 KO).

The Canadian welterweight initially went to the body of Sostre in the 1st and then immediately went to work in the opening moments of the second round.

Zewski dropped Sostre twice and Referee Arthur Mercante counted out the New Yorker at 49 seconds of round 2.

SOCCIA vs. CANNING

Another New York fighter, Dario Soccia (2-0, 0 KOs) tasted defeat after absorbing a Split Decision judgement to Tyler Canning (1-1,0 KOs) of Lander, WY. Canning was the more accurate puncher of the two, connecting early against his foe with straights and jabs.

Both fighters exchanged heavily against each other producing an exciting scrap that the crowd appreciated.

Canning took heavy shots in the fourth and final round as Soccia poured a barrage of shots with the crowd egging him to go for a knockout.

Two judges had identical scores of 39-37 for Canning and a third has the same card for Soccia.

TAPIA vs. DE LOS SANTOS

Super Welterweight Glen Tapia (17-0, 10 KOs) of nearby Passaic, NJ scored a Unanimous Decision over Rican Joseph De Los Santos (13-11-3, 6 KOs) of Bayamon, PR. to remain undefeated. The one time sparing partner of Manny Pacquiao ruled over his counterpart with solid jabs and hooks throughout the fight.

Action picked up in Round 6 when Tapia connected heavy blows to the head of De Los Santos. The Puerto Rican fighter took those shots and managed to sneak a pair of shots of his own in the said round. Tapia then preserved his lead by dictating the action in the remaining rounds of the bout.

The scores were 80-72 on all cards.

HART vs. FARR

Jesse Hart (6-0, 4 KOs) of Philadelphia, PA scored the second knockout of the night when he put Marlon Farr (2-2, 0 KO ) of Zephyr hills, FL. to sleep in the 3rd round of a scheduled 6 round Super Middleweight contest.

Hart landed a right cross in the closing seconds of the 2nd which started Farr's troubles.

The Philly fighter then worked on his combos which landed squarely on his opponent's head in the succeeding round. A hard right dropped Farr which he got up from only to be pounded by a series of hooks from Hart that knocked him between the ropes. The action was then halted by the referee at the 1:33 mark of the third.
