NBA -- Robinson leads Bulls to second win in two nights By Katrina Barnett PhilBoxing.com Sun, 07 Apr 2013 ![]() CHICAGO -- Nate Robinson scored 12 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter to help the Chicago Bulls fend off a stubborn Orlando Magic, 87-86, Friday night at the United Center. It was the second victory in as many nights for the Bulls, who defeated the Brooklyn Nets -- 92-90-- Thursday night at the Barclays Center. Robinson chalked 12 on that one, including the go-ahead floater in the end game. With a 42-33 won-lost slate, Chicago has crept to within a full game of the 43-32 Nets for the No.4 seed and homecourt advantage in the opening round of the playoffs which begins on April 21. As the postseason nears and teams jockey for seeding, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau, who just inked a four-year contract extension worth $17.5 million, told reporters in his post-game press conference that he isn't watching the scoreboard. "You don't want to change your approach. If you start looking ahead or behind, you lose sight of what's important. That's to continue to concentrate on our daily improvement and the opponent we're facing that particular night. You're always striving your best going down the stretch. And you have to be as healthy as possible," said Thibodeau. Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng also made significant contributions that derailed the Magic, who cut their deficit to 87-86 and had ball possession in the final 10.8 seconds of play. Deng finished with 19 points while Boozer pumped in 12. The forwards duo also combined for 13 rebounds and six assists. Kirk Hinrich tallied 13 and Jimmy Butler added 12 for the Bulls, who played without Derrick Rose (ACL rehab), Joakim Noah (platar fasciitis), Rip Hamilton (lower back spasms), Taj Gibson (MCL strain) and Marco Belinelli (abdominal strain). Beno Udrih played exceedingly well for the Magic, 27 points and seven assists and five rebounds. Nikola Vucevic had 16 points and 15 rebounds while DeQuan Jones added 10 markers.. Surrounded by a throng of reporters inside the Bulls locker Robinson, who has been clutch lately, was asked when the last time he was afraid to take a shot. The diminutive guard quipped with a laugh, "Probably never. Never afraid. That's something my father instilled in me young. Just never be afraid to fail or succeed." Indeed, courage and the lack of fear are admirable traits the Bulls continue to manifest in a season fraught with injuries. But then again, it was the famous Bull of them all, Michael Jordan, who once said that "limits, like fears are often just an illusion."
