NBA -- Pacers annihilate NY Knicks by 34 By Reynaldo Seno PhilBoxing.com Fri, 22 Feb 2013 ![]() NEW YORK -- If you're an NBA fan, you probably kept squinting your eyes, wondering if the carnage you were watching was real. And if you were a New York Knicks fan, chances are, you must have spent much of the night dabbing away the tears. On the strength of 11 triples, 26 fast break points and a 54-39 rebounding edge, the Indiana Pacers gave the visiting New York Knicks a thorough 125-91 drubbing Wednesday night at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. Playing at breakneck speed, as though they had a dinner appointment to catch, Indiana raced to a 30-18 start. And after dumping 44 second quarter points against the lackluster Knicks defense, the game was basically over at the half, 74-44. They had to play the third and fourth quarters simply because it was required, but the Pacers was never threatened and kept their lead in the Central Division with a 33-21 slate, 1 1/2 games ahead of the Chicago Bulls. All-Star Paul George led Indy with 28 points, eight rebounds and three assists while David West added 18. Lance Stephenson finished with 14 for Indiana, which connected on 42 of 79 fields goals (53.2 percent) and 11 of 24 threes (45.8 percent). The Pacers also buried New York with 30 of 39 free throws made. All-Star center Tyson Chandler paced the Knicks with 19 points and 11 rebounds while fellow All-Star Carmelo Anthony struggled with just 15 on 7-for-21 shooting. New York missed a ridiculous 57 of 86 field goals for a disappointing 33.7 percent clip. The Knicks missed their first seven 3-point attempts and finished just 5-for-28 above the arc (17.9 percent). "We didn't show up," Knicks head coach Mike Woodsoon told the New York times. "It's nothing pretty about tonight's game, and that's unacceptable. We just didn't compete, and that's on all of us. It was like we were still on the All-Star break. We can't play like this and stay at the top of our division."
