NONITO DONAIRE IS THE NEW FILIPINO MEXICUTIONER

PhilBoxing.com

Philippines got even with Mexico courtesy of Nonito Donaire when he stopped Jorge Arce in the third round at Houston, Texas. The victory is the fourteenth win by Donaire over a Mexican fighter. He is now the strongest candidate for the title 2012 Fighter of the Year.

The Filipino Flash has beaten four deadly boxers this year including Puerto Rico?s Wilfredo Vasquez, Jr. by split decision, South Africa?s Jeffrey Mathebula by unanimous decision, Japan?s Toshiaki Nishioka by 9th round TKO and Arce.

With the win over the dangerous Arce, Donaire becomes the new Filipino Mexicutioner and is Manny Pacquiao?s heir-apparent.

So far the Filipino Flash has beaten 14 Mexican boxers: Arce (TKO 3rd round), Fernando Montiel (TKO 2nd round), Hernan Marquez (TKO 8th round), Manuel Vargas (KO 3rd round), Luis Maldonado (TKO 8th round), Oscar Andrade (unanimous decision), Jose Luis Cardenas (TKO 2nd round), Daniel Gonzales (KO 1st round), Paulino Villalobos (TKO 6th round), Gilberto Bolanos (unanimous decision), Ricardo Barreras (TKO 4th round), Jorge Lopez (TKO 1st round), Jose Luis Torres (TKO 1st round), and Jose Lazaro (KO 1st round).

Donaire absorbed his first and lone professional loss in only his second bout by a controversial unanimous decision to American Rosendo Sanchez.

Arce is not an ordinary boxer and has super achievements as a professional. He is the second Mexican boxer to win a world title in four weight divisions. The first one to accomplish such an incredible feat was Erik Morales. Arce reigned as the WBO bantamweight champion and the former WBO superbantamweight, WBO superflyweight, WBA interim superflyweight, WBC interim flyweight, WBC lightflyweight and WBO lightflyweight champion.

Donaire is also a four-division world champion and the reigning WBO, The Ring and WBC Diamond superbantamweight champion. He is also the former IBF superbantamweight, WBC and WBO bantamweight, WBA interim superflyweight and IBF flyweight champion.

Donaire hit Arce in the head in the second round scoring a knockdown. He was able to get up right away albeit dazed. A barrage of punches rained on the Mexican as The Flash did not fail millions of Filipinos seeking vengeance for the painful loss of Pacquiao to Juan Manuel Marquez.

The Mexican went down for the second time in the third round as Donaire chased him and hit him from all directions. He was up again but already felt wobbly from the thunderous strikes he received from the champion. Without any breather, Donaire finished him with a vaunted left as he felt flat to the canvas and referee Laurence Cole stopped the carnage at 2:59 of the third round.

Donaire now improved to 31-1 with 20 KO wins while Arce dropped to 61-7-2 with 46 KO wins. There are no plans as to whom he fights next. He wants to take a rest and go home to the Philippines to savor the victory. Christmas is again merrier for Filipino boxing fans. Thanks to Nonito, the new Mexicutioner.
