PACQUIAO LOOKS FORWARD TO FIGHTING AGAIN

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES (PNA via PCSO) - Tuloy ang boksing!

This, Pambansang Kamao Manny Pacquiao declared Sunday, a day after suffering a sixth round knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in their welterweight collision -- the Fourth Chapter of their bitter rivalry at the MGM Grand Arena, in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao looked well and jolly as if nothing happened in announcing he will continue fighting despite his defeat, the fifth in a 60-fight 17-year pro career.

Pacquiao was pronounced out of danger by the attending physicians at the University Memorial Hospital in the same city where he was rushed and confined for a few hours to determine the damage done to his brain due to the impact of the blow that floored him for the second time in the bout.

"Tuloy pa rin tayo, wala namang nangyaring pinsala. I was winning sa mga judges. Sayang nga, in fact, I was about to finish him off with only a second left of the sixth, kaya lang natiyempohan ako," he told sportswriters gathered around him inside the Pacquiao bus that brought him, his wife Jinkee and the team back to to Los Angeles.

"I was sorry for the loss, but that's part of the game. Sports yan eh," he reasoned out. "Ganyan ang sports, may mananalo at may matatalo. Kung ayaw mong matalo, huwag kang maglaro,"
Asked when he will be ready to fight again, the eight-division world champion said by April against anybody, including a possible fifth fight with the Mexican warrior.

"Puede, puedeng magkaroon ng fifth fight, lamang pa rin naman ako sa kanya 2-1-1. That will again be a good fight which boxing fans will love to see," he exclaimed. " I will give him again a chance na makatabla."

"I feel sad for losing, but at the same time happy because I know by the way the fans were cheering during the fight that we were able to make them happy, which actually is what I would like to see whenever I fight," he said. "Basta gusto ng fans, gusto ko rin."

Pacquiao recalled that after sending Marquez down the canvass in the fifth to even things up following his similar fall in the third, he knew that he will soon dominate and emerge victor.
"When the sixth round started, I knew I had him already. He was breathing badly because of the blood oozing from his broken nose. Feeling ko bibigyan na lang siya ng isang round pa ng kanyang corner at ihahagis na ang tuwalya."

"Kaso nga nasingitan tayo, pero babawi tayo, pasasayahin na nating muli ang mga tao," he said with his usual wide grin. "I faked him kasi with my right twice at susundan ko ng kaliwa, pag reach ko nasaLubong ko ang kanan niya. Ganun din ang nangyari sa akin against Torrecampo." ," he said reminiscing his similar KO defeat to Rustico Torrecampo in the early stage of his career.

"As to my immediate plan, wala pa. Magpapahinga muna tayo sa piling ng mga anak namin na miss na miss ko na," he said. "at saka medhyo aasikasuhin ko muna ang trabaho sa kongreso. Tambak na ang naiwan kong trabaHo eh."

"We will celebrate my birthday despite my loss. Nakahanda na yun bago pa lang ako umalis sa Maynila. Kita kita tayo dun ha? he said in reference to his natal day on Dec. 17 when he will turn 34.
