ERIK MORALES PROMISES TO RETIRE IF HE LOSES REMATCH TO DANNY GARCIA
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Thu, 30 Aug 2012

Former four division world champion Erik ?El Terrible? Morales has promised to retire should he lose his rematch against WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on October 20.
During a visit to the World Boxing Council offices, Morales said he would hang up his gloves if he loses.
The Mexican legend who lost two of his three bouts in an exciting trilogy with ?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao disclosed that he will have a nutritionist to help avoid having weight problems similar to his first meeting with Garcia when he lost his title on the scales.
Morales scored a unanimous twelve round decision in his first clash with Pacquiao on March 19, 2005 but lost the rematch by a 10th round TKO and the third by a 3rd round knockout.
After dropping a twelve round unanimous decision to lightweight champion David Diaz on August 4, 2007 Morales took a long layoff but returned to the ring in March 2010 to win nthe vacant WBC International title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Jose Alfaro.
Morales then went on to win the vacant WBC light welterweight title when Pablo Cesar Cano retired in the 10th round in a title fight on September 17, 2011.
The WBC quoted Morales as saying his attempt to regain the title he lost tp Danny Garcia would be a very tough battle because Garcia is young and strong but emphasized that he would do everything to regain the belt that Garcia now holds.
Morales is trained by his father Jose Morales.
Morales also revealed that after his retirement he would continue to work with Golden Boy Promotions.
