Quebec Canada Chess: Pinoy GM Wesley So held to back-to-back draws By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Wed, 25 Jul 2012 FILIPINO Grandmaster (GM) Wesley So scored back-to-back draws in the on-going 2012 Quebec Open Chess Championship at the the beautiful venue College Brebeuf in Montreal, Canada. The 17-year-old Bacoor, Cavite whiz kid split the point with GM Lazaro Bruzon of Cuba in Tuesday's fourth round then halved the point with International Master (IM) Bryan Smith of the USA in Wednesday's fifth round. The Philippines' top ranked Chess Grandmaster improved his output for a total of 4 points on 3 wins and 2 draws. So earlier brought down Fide Master (FM) Louie Jiang of Canada, IM Daniel Naroditsky and IM Darwin Yang of the USA in the first three round on Monday. A top prize $4,000 awaits the winners in the Invitational tournament which attracted 32 woodpushers.
