 Garcia-Hirales.
Ramon Garcia Hirales who lost his WBC light flyweight title to the Philippines Donnie Nietes faces one of the finest boxers in the world today in Nicaragua?s Roman ?Chocalatito? Gonzalez for the WBA title held by the undefeated Gonzalez in Pomona, California on Sunday, Manila Time.
The identical twin brother of another former world champion, IBF minimum weight Raul ?Rayito? Garcia knows the odds but expressed confidence about the outcome.
Garcia who is a 29 year old southpaw with a record of 16-3-1 with 9 knockouts said ?I know Gonzalez is a great fighter with a lot of power. But, I am a good boxer and my style will give him trouble. This is a good fight for both us to show the fans what great fights the little guys can give them,? said Garcia.
Gonzalez didn?t say much expect to state that the fight against Garcia is only his second in the US, adding ?I want to give a good fight for the fans.?
Gonzalez, the 24 year old former minimum weight champion won the WBA light flyweight title with a 2nd round knockout of Mexico?s Francisco Rosas in Tokyo on October 24, 2010.
He has had three successful defenses since then including a 2nd round knockout of Omar Soto on October 1, 2011. In his last fight Gonzalez won by a 1st round knockout over Manuel Jimenez in a scheduled tebn round bout last March 17.
Garcia won the WBO light flyweight title by a 4th round knockout in a rematch with Jesus Geles on April 30, 2011 after dropping a twelve round split decision on February 5, 2011.
He lost the title to Nietes by a unanimous twelve round decision in Bacolod City on October 8, 2011.
