ALA Promotions is scheduled to do a press conference for their upcoming fight dubbed PRIDE OF NEGROS in the City of Smiles Bacolod, Negros Occidental 3 PM Friday April 13, 2012 at the Bascon Hotel Bacolod City. The fight event will be headlined by reigning OPBF Minimumweight Champion and Bacolod City native Merlito "Tiger" Sabillo who will be present during the press conference.
The undefeated Sabillo, W 17 (KO 7) L 0 D 0 will be trying to keep his unbeaten streak against an opponent to be announced during this Friday's press conference.
PRIDE OF NEGROS will be featuring fighters from the Negros Occidental Province like the undefeated fighters in Melvin Gumban of Escalante City and Juren Lobordo, Lou Arlos and Rey Morales all from Bacolod City. These young prospects are part of the steady rise of boxing talents from Negros Occidental following the trail set by Murcia native and now two division world champion Donnie "Ahas" Nietes.
Expected to attend and grace the said press conference are ALA Promotions Executive Assistant to the CEO Chad Canares and GAB Chairman Ramon Guanzon who is also from Bacolod City.
