WBO PRESIDENT NAMES REFEREE AND JUDGES FOR MARQUEZ-FEDCHENKO TITLE FIGHT

World Boxing Organization (WBO) president Francisco ?Paco? Valcarcel has announced the names of the referee and three judges who will work the world title bout between three-division champion and Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez and tough Sergey Fedchenko of the Ukraine.
The WBO junior welterweight bout will be held on Sunday, Manila Time, at the New Mexico City Arena, Mexico City and will be telecast on a delayed basis by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN over Studio 23 beginning at 4:30 p.m..
The telecast will feature a twin-city card from Mexico City and from the Mandalay Bay Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas that will feature the lightweight battle between Brandon Rios and Richard Abril and undefeated Filipino southpaw Mercito ?No Mercy? Gesta vs Oscar Cuero of Colombia.
The Marquez-Fedchenko fight card is Top Rank and Zanfer Promotions preentation while the Las Vegas fight card is a Top Rank Promotion.
Valcarcel named Benjy Esteves of the United States as referee for the Marquez (53-6-1, 39 KO?s) vs Fedchenko (30-1, 13 KO?s) WBO Interim Junior Welterweight title fight.
The WBO president named Steven Weisfeld from the United States, Alejandro Lopez-Cid, from Mexico, and Rafael Isenia, from the Dominican Republic as judges while Valcarcel himself will be the WBO supervisor for the bout.
Marquez, a former world champion at 126, 130 and 135 pounds, is ranked No.1 by the WBO in the junior welterweight division while Fedchenko is ranked No. 4. The WBO 140lb champion is Timothy Bradley who faces ?Fighter of the Decade? Manny Pacquiao on June 9 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
