ALBUQUERQUE'S FINEST STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT ON APRIL 28 AT THE SANTA ANA STAR CASINO IN ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO

UNBEATEN FIDEL MALDONADO JR. & VETERAN HECTOR MUNOZ TO CO-HEADLINE "S?LO BOXEO TECATE" DOUBLEHEADER

LOS ANGELES, April 9 - In 2011, rising star Fidel Maldonado Jr. began to make his mark in the boxing world by winning the WBC Youth Lightweight World Championship. On Saturday, April 28 at the Santa Ana Star Casino in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Maldonado will defend that title for the first time in the eight round main event of TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" against Obregon, Mexico's Fernando Carcamo.

In the co-featured fight of the evening, another local favorite, "Hurricane" Hector Munoz battles Louisiana's John Revish in an eight round welterweight fight.

This night of world-class professional boxing is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Golden Girl Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate. Doors open at 6:30 pm on fight night and the first bell rings at 7:30 pm MT. The TeleFutura broadcast begins at 11:00 pm ET/PT.

Tickets, priced at $20, $35 and $55, are available for purchase at the Santa Ana Star Casino Box Office, by calling (505) 867-0000 or online at www.StarTickets.com or www.GGTix.com.

Unbeaten in 13 professional fights, 20-year-old southpaw Fidel Maldonado Jr. (13-0, 11 KO's) has wasted no time impressing fans and members of the boxing media each time he steps through the ropes. The owner of eight knockout wins in two rounds or less, Maldonado showed a veteran's poise last October when he went the eight round distance for the first time in defeating Eric Cruz for the WBC Youth title. After a knockout win over of Antonio Chuc in a February non-title fight, he looks to defend his belt for the first time against Carcamo.

Obregon, Mexico's Fernando Carcamo (9-3, 6 KO's) started his career off in a rollercoaster fashion, but starting in 2010, he hit his stride, and has since won five of his last six bouts, with four of those wins coming by way of knockout. In a December 2011 fight against 11-1-2 prospect Andrew Cancio, he suffered his only loss of the stretch, but it was only a late final round surge that allowed Cancio to escape with the majority decision win. Now Carmaco looks to upset the hometown hero Maldonado on April 28.

Another proud son of Albuquerque, 33-year-old Hector Munoz (19-7-1, 12 KO's) will, like Maldonado, look to impress his hometown fans on April 28. Trained by former five-time World Champion Johnny Tapia, Munoz is a former WBC USNBC champion and has faced off against top-notch opposition like Mike Jones, Antonin Decarie and Yoshihiro Kamegai, getting him ready to challenge Baton Rouge, Louisiana's John "Renegade" Revish (9-5-2, 8 KO's). Revish, a 28-year-old battle-tested fighter who has shared the ring with current World Champion Adrien "The Problem" Broner and 2008 United States Olympians Javier Molina and Sadam Ali, will look to spoil Munoz's homecoming.
