RAMONAL TO DEFEND RP SUPER BANTAM TITLE VS MAGBOO ON APRIL 21

Philippine super bantamweight champion Jhunriel Ramonal will defend his title against Nino Magboo who is ranked No. 4 on the big fight card headlined by PABA light flyweight champion Randy Petalcorin who defends his title against Thailand?s Samartlek Chaiyonggym at the Mandaluyong Gymnasium on April 21.
The 22 year old Ramonal has a record of 12-5-1 with 6 knockouts while the 25 year old Magboo has an impressive record of 15-2-1 with 7 knockouts.
Ramonal won the vacant title with an 11th round technical decxision over Sonny Gonzales on April 24, 2010 and retained his crown with a 12 round unanimous decision over Ranel Suco after dropping the challenger in the last round.
Ramonal put on a fine performance against Japan?s Hiromasa Ohashi before losing a twelve round split decision on March 27, 2011.
However, he was knocked out in the 4th round when he moved up two weight divisions to face undefeated Mexican silver lightweight champion Alejandro Sanabria in Chihuahua, Mexico last January 28 in a fight where the difference in weight and height of Sanabria made the difference.
Magboo lost by an 8th round TKO to tough world-rated Jessie Albaracin in a WBO Oriental super bantamweight title fight on September 11, 2010 but came back to win three fights in a row, two by TKO.
He scored an 8th round TKO over Rene Bestudio whom he dropped in the eighth round and also scored a 7th round TKO in a rematch with Leonardo Doronio on April 19, 2011 after winning a ten round unanimous decision over Doronio on December 19, 2010.
The 20 year old Petalcorin has a record of 16-1 with n13 knockouts while Samartlek has a record of 8-3 with 3 knockouts.
The fight card will be telecast on a slightly delayed basis on ?Pinoy Knockout? over AKTV IBC 13.
