Lou Esa Inducted Into New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame

PhilBoxing.com

It was recently announced that former heavyweight knockout artist Lou Esa will be inducted into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. On Thursday evening, November 8, 2012, the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame will hold its 43rd Annual Dinner and Induction Ceremonies at the beautiful Venetian, located at 546 River Drive, Garfield, New Jersey starting at 7 p.m.
?I am very excited about this; it truly is an honor,? said Lou Esa. ?I am so happy that I can share this with my children. I wanted them to see me get inducted; it feels really good that people recognize what I?ve done and continue to do in the boxing world.?

As a pro Esa was 19-6-1 with 16 KO?s, and had the opportunity to work with Angelo Dundee amongst several other legends who have stepped inside the squared circle. Since retiring, Esa has stayed connected to the sport; he currently trains and manages a handful of professional boxers and MMA fighters, as well as several amateurs.

A USA Boxing coach and referee/judge for the Golden Gloves, Esa is adamant about staying close to the sport and helping pave the way for future generations.

Lou Esa has established himself as a true champion in the sport of boxing; having the chance to personally know him and work with him inside and out of the ring, I can attest that there is nobody with more genuine passion and love for the sport of boxing. Esa bleeds boxing, and day upon day he works with fighters of all ages, passing along experience and knowledge which was bestowed upon him. Esa trains out of Final Round Boxing and Fitness in Whippany, NJ. Recently Esa formed Winning Method Management?a full spectrum management and PR firm for fighters, musicians and other professionals.

Former 7-time champion and close friend, Bobby ?The Celtic Warrior? Gunn had the following to say about Esa, ?He was one of the craziest fighters inside the ring; he was a threat to anyone on any given night. If he had the proper management and backing, Esa would?ve been a world champion. He is a class act in and out of the ring. Fighters like him are a rare breed, and are a thing of the past.?

Super middleweight prospect Richard Pierson has had the opportunity to work with Esa for the past year. ?Lou is one of the nicest tough guys in the world,? said Pierson. ?One minute he?s yelling at me, and then seconds later he is telling me he wants the best for me. Lou is a great friend and a father figure to me. He is also a man for the people and has the biggest heart. I am glad to see him get inducted into the Hall of Fame and get the credit he deserves as a fighter.?
In addition to Lou Esa, (13) of boxing?s finest will be inducted into New Jersey?s Boxing Hall of Fame, including:
