La Romana is widely known for it?s beaches scenic views and represents the third largest city in the Dominican Republic. Main Event: WBC Featherweight World Youth Champion Javier ?El Abejon? Fortuna (Dominican Republic, 15-0, 11 k.o?s) vs. Geysi Lorenzo (Dominican Republic, 11-1, 2 k.o.?s) on Monday, September 19th, 2011 in a 10 round fight in his native country at the Polideportivo Eleoncio Mercedes in La Romana, Dominican Republic. This will be Fortuna?s second title defense since capturing the title by knock out versus Derrick Wilson this past March on HBO (international feed) on the under-card of stable mate Sergio ?Maravilla? Martinez. Undercard: In the Super Welterweight division, the Virgin Island?s John ?The Rock? Jackson (10-0, 9 k.o.?s) vs. Jose Vidal Soto (24-8-2, 2 k.o.?s). Next, In the Super Middleweight division, the Virgin Islands?s Julius ?The Chef? Jackson (11-0, 7 K.O.?s) vs. Eduardo Mercedes (6-6, 6 k.o.?s). Also, In the Super Welterweight division, from the Virgin Islands (cousin of the Jackson brothers), Samuel Rogers (8-0, 3 K.O.?s) vs. Alex Hernandez (11-10-1, 8 k.o.?s). In the Light Welterweight division, Juan Carlos ?Merengue? Abreu (1-0, 1 k.o.) vs. Rudy Acosio (2-1). In the Featherweight division, Braulio ?El Chavo?Rodriguez (2-0, 2 k.o.?s) vs. Juan Carlos in his pro debut. Participants of the fights will be staying in the Vista Catalina Golden Suites which is only twenty minutes from La Romana International Airport & thirty minutes from iconic Bayahibe beaches.
