PhilBoxing.com

WORCESTER, Mass. (August 20, 2011) ? Hometown hero Edwin?La Bomba? Rodriguez remained unbeaten, stopping intra-state rival Chris Traietti in tonight?s Broadway Boxing main event, presented by DiBella Entertainment, in the 400th professional boxing show ever held at Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Displaying more boxing skills and patience under for his new head trainer Ronnie Shields, Rodriguez outclassed a game Traietti (10-3, 6 KOs), who is an Iraq War veteran and college graduate.Edwin dropped a few right-handed bombs on Traietti in the opening round and a devastating right hand to Traietti?s ribs (left) left him unable to breathe properly and unable to answer the bell for the third.

??That was my signature punch,? Rodriguez said about his damaging right to the body.?He?s a tough guy. I have a good trainer, Ronnie Shields, who worked with me on my jab and it was working good tonight. I want to fight for a world title soon.?

The 26-year-old Rodriguez, the reigning WBC USNBC super middleweight champion, is rated # 8 by the International Boxing Federation and #9 by the World Boxing Association, as well as #12 by the World Boxing Council and #13 by the World Boxing Organization.

Unheralded junior lightweight Ryan ?Polish Prince? Kielczewski (11-0, 2 KOs) stamped himself as an action-packed fighter to watch, after belting James Lester (9-6) around the ring from the opening bell for eight full rounds. The fan favorite Kielczewski won an eight-round decision by lop-sided scores of 80-69 and 79-20 twice.
