Mayol, Kyowa to use Reyes gloves!

Both Rodel Mayol of the Philippines and Eagle Kyowa, the WBC minimumweight kingpin, will use the Mexico-made Cleto Reyes gloves when they duke it out on May 6 in a 12-round rumble at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
This was announced during the press conference in Tokyo last March 20, where the two fighters faced the media to announce their upcoming duel.
Reyes gloves are more popularly known as a 'punchers' gloves' as they have relatively thinner padding compared to other brands, and fighters who are known for their power prefer to use Reyes.
Since both Kyowa and Mayol are both known for their explosive power, hence the use of Reyes.
Reyes is also the preferred brand of pound-for-pound superstar Manny Pacquiao, and was even credited for his knockout win over Erik Morales in their second fight. Pacquiao had lobbied heavily to use Reyes in the rematch, as he emphasized the use of Winning gloves in their first encounter tolled heavily, allowing Morales to escape with a decision win.
