THE SNIPER IS NOW THE NEW WBO ASPAC FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION

The Sniper Froilan Saludar (13-0-1 with 10 KOs) added the WBO Asia Pacific flyweight belt in his resume when Referee Atty. Danrex Tapdasan was forced to stepped in and stopped the fight in the 10th round of the scheduled 12-round encounter at the Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Kawit, Cavite last Saturday, August 6, 2011, when the former WBC International minimum weight champion Gabriel Pumar (16-7-1 with 9 KOs) failed to answer the power punches thrown by the Sniper.
From first to the tenth round, the fight was an entertaining as the two fighters displayed superb boxing skills and excellent conditioning. In the middle of the bout prior to the stoppage, Pumar had his moments when he was able to connect his punches, but the power of the Sniper was just too much for him especially when the Sniper unleashed powerful punches in the 10th round sending Pumar to the ropes and failed to answer the barrage of punches prompting the referee to stop the fight.
