Lozada talks Katsidis fight:

PhilBoxing.com

Mexico?s Michael Lozada will be stepping into the lions den when he comes to Australia to take on former two time WBO world champion Michael Katsidis on August 13th at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition centre.

Lozada spoke for the first time today when he was asked questions on his upcoming fight with the HBO fight of the year winner.

Q. Michael Katsidis will make his return to the ring in Australia, and it's no secret that he was ready to bring the big fights to his country. What kind of respect do you have for your opponent?

A. Of course I have respect for Michael he has been in some great fights with the best in the world, but when I step into that ring all respect is forgotten because I'm here to win.

Q. Many people are thinking that Michael Lozada will be easy picking for Katsidis. What do you say to those claims?

A. I respect their opinions, but I have had ample time to train and study Michael. I am not coming to Australia and fight Michael to lose.

Q. Given much of Katsidis' success was away from home what kind of advantage, if any, do you feel he will get from see fighting in his own backyard?

A. Home advantage is always great, you have the crowd cheering for you and booing the opponent. Hopefully the crowd will respect a good fight and cheer for the action not just the person.

Q. You are 28 years old, have fought 38 times but have not been given another world title shot since losing to Valero. Has that been frustrating?

A. I'm not frustrated because I have fought tough fighters who have gone onto title fights and given the chance I'll will have a title

Q. Katsidis wants to return to the top but I'm sure you also want that shot. Do you think victory over Katsidis will make that happen?

A. For sure Michael is a big name, and it would elevated my record to go onto better fights. Like I said I'm here to win.

Katsidis, along with Golden Gloves champion Braydon Smith and WBC challenger Nestor Rocha will have their final public hit out Thursday the 4th of August, 1.30pm at Steve Della?s gym 12 Kyabra st Newstead, Brisbane.

Michael Lozada will arrive in Australia next week in preparation for fight with Michael Katsidis ?The Great? j3on August 13th in a fight night not to be missed, Katsidis is fighting on Australian soil for the first time in over four years, and is confident that this fight will be no different to all his fights... Action packed!
