BOXING FANS BLOWOUT ON AUGUST 6

Pinoy boxing fans will experience sumptuous boxing meals on August 6, 2011 as the two front runners in sport networks, AKTV by TV 5 and GMA 7 cover two regional titles in two separate venues.
The WBO Asia Pacific flyweight title will be contested between the two Filipino rising stars. Froilan Saludar (12-0-1 with 9 KOs) who is known for his punching power with 75% knock out rate will battle against former WBC International minimum weight champion Gabriel Pumar (16-6-1 with 9 KOs) at the Island Cove Hotel and Leisure Park in Kawit, Cavite on Saturday, August 6, 2011. This fight will be aired over AKTV.
In a separate fight venue on the same day, August 6, 2011, Dodie Boy Pe?alosa Jr. (5-0 with 5 KOs) will once again attempt to retain his undefeated record with all the wins coming by way of knockouts against a Thai opponent, Kong Kiatpracha Gym in the featured eight-round bantamweight bout dubbed as ?Laban ng Lahi: Dugong Kampeon? at the Mandaue Sports Complex in Cebu.
This 21 year old young rising star will surely be a big hit in the world of boxing especially that his surname is similar with the two former champions who happened to be his father, Dodie Boy Penalosa, Sr., and his uncle, Gerry Penalosa.
On Saturday, Dodie Boy, Jr. will experience his first acid test against a 34 year-old veteran Thai fighter with a record of 5 wins, 8 losses and 1 draw.
The fight which was promoted by Gerry Penalosa under his GerryPens Promotions will be aired on Sunday over GMA 7.
