Marquez, Dapudong Make Weight

City of Hermosillo, Mexico - World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight champion Hernan "Tyson" Marquez of Mexico and challenger Edrin "The Sting" Dapudong of the Philippines easily made the weight during a public weigh-in at the Soriana Plus Mall in Plaza Cindero this city.
Marquez, 5' 2" tall (30 wins, 2 losses with 24 KOs), tipped the scale at exactly 112 lbs. while the 5' 5" Dapudong (22 wins, 3 losses, 14 KOs) weighed 110 lbs.
The searing Hermosillo heat which hit 40C as the weigh-in was being held aided the Filipino challenger in easily making the weight.
To the relief of the Filipino camp which earlier expressed worries over the desert heat in Hermosillo, the 12-round championship bout will be held at the fully air-conditioned Hermosillo Multi-Purpose Center in the heart of the city.
Working in the corner of Dapudong on fight night will be Braveheart Boxing Club assistant trainer Bruce Lerio with veteran cornerman Nonito Donaire, Sr., as cutman.
