BARRERA ARRIVES FOR BOOM BOOM REMATCH ON SATURDAY

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU CITY -- Mexican warrior Alejandro ?Zorrito? Barrera arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport last night via Philippine Airlines flight PR 863 with his trainer and former Olympic fighter Victor Hugo Correa.

The fighter known as Zorrito is back in the Queen City of the South Cebu barely a week before his much anticipated grudge rematch against the Philippines Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista which he lost to five months ago via 4th round TKO where he and his team believed to be a controversial decision.

Barrera lost to Bautista during their first meeting August of last year where the bout was put to a halt by the officials when the Mexican suffered a severe cut in his eyelid wherein the cut was ruled to be caused by a legitimate punch. The visiting camp though thought otherwise as they protested the outcome of the fight and demanded for a rematch which they immediately got.

This match-up is a very interesting one as Barrera has said to have trained with Bautista tormentor Daniel Ponce De Leon who also happens to be Barrera?s trainer Victor Hugo Correa?s Olympic team mate.

Bautista on his part likewise said during his interview at his PINOY PRIDE 3: THE REMATCH PUBLIC PREVIEW at the SM City Cebu Atrium over the weekend that he has been training nonstop as he is very much determined to win this rematch no matter what it takes.

Team Barrera was met at the airport last night by ALA Promotions Director for Media and Public Relations Chad Canares and was met by members of the media. Canares accompanied the Mexican camp to the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino where the visitors are camped.

Alejandro Barrera will be presented to the media today, Tuesday 11 AM January 25, 2011 in the PINOY PRIDE 3: THE REMATCH PRESS LUNCHEON at the famous Mexican restaurant Mooon Caf? at the I.T. Park in Lahug, City

PINOY PRIDE 3: THE REMATCH is a mega presentation brought to you by the Philippines premier boxing promotions group ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports.
