ANOTHER SGG PROMOTIONS? FIGHTER GETS A CRACK AT A WORLD TITLE PhilBoxing.com Sun, 23 Jan 2011 Another member of the SGG Promotions, which is headed by promoter Sammy Gello-ani, gets a crack at a world title as WBO #8 flyweight contender Ardin Diale, the current WBO Oriental Flyweight Champion takes on reigning WBO flyweight Champion Julio Cesar Miranda on February 12, 2010 in Guadalajara , Mexico. This is will be Miranda?s third defense of his title since his win over Filipino Richie Mepranaum last June 12, 2010 for the vacant WBO World Flyweight Title. Diale who is presently managed by boxing manager Dante Almario is from Saranggani Province and is based in Manila as he girds up in his quest for the world title. Diale was formerly trained and managed by Emil Romano and assisted by Jun Agrabio until Almario took over the management to further his career. Almario stated that Diale has been in training since he won the WBO regional belt over hot prospect Jermie Jabel in M?lang, South Cotabato by knock-out on August 01, 2010 that prompted his high world ranking. Diale's promoter Gello-ani informed during the WBO Convention that he had an agreement with Kokiet Group Promotions of Thailand to do a unification with WBO #9 Tepparith Kokietgym who is also the WBO Asia Pacific Flyweight champion however, Kokiet Group management opted to pass on that proposed eliminator bout fearing that they might lose to Diale. Nevertheless, there were other plans that Gello-ani had for Diale to keep him active so Diale was given an opportunity as the co-main attraction of the scheduled WBO World Youth flyweight championship of Froilan ?The Sniper? Saludar on January 19th at Imus Cavite, until this breaking news came about to challenge Miranda for the WBO flyweight world title. ?The news came in good timing, Diale is ready and prepared for Miranda, this is the break I have been waiting for him, we will pull him out of his scheduled Febraury 19th program to focus on this challenge for the world title against Miranda," said Gello-ani. Miranda, 31, is a veteran who sports a record of 40 fights ? winning 34 in which 27 by knockouts, lost 5 with 1 KO and 1 draw. Diale, 22, sports a record of 22 fights with 14 wins ( 3 KO ), 5 losses ( 1 KO ) and 3 draws. ?I am now processing the documentation for Diale and his manager for a US Visa. God willing, everything will be in place. We are scheduled to leave on the 7th of February. Diale may not be a household name as yet, however, I have high hopes for him as the next Filipino prospect that will emerge as a world champion this Year. "I am sure only a few fight fans know him but I see him as a disciplined and dedicated boxer with a very big heart ? no fear fighting style that may lead him to victory. If he fights the way he fought at in M?lang, North Cotabato against Jermie Jabel, you will surely see the next world champion," Gello-ani informed. Gello-ani added that he was very thankful to Diale's former manager Emil Romano for having faith in SGG Promotions when they signed up with his promotional company after proving to Romano of giving him a chance for the WBO regional crown and getting Diale world ranked. ?Likewise with the current manager, Dante Almario for the same trust and confidence with SGG Promotions, when he also acknowledged and honored all existing contracts that his boxer and former manager had entered into. As for my part, I promised them that I will do my best to give Diale a chance at a World Title sooner than they had even thought. Now, I have delivered that promise,? Gello-ani added. The fight will be promoted by Zanfer and Top Rank Promotions. |
