STAGE SET FOR 'SNIPER' SALUDAR CRACK AT WBO YOUTH WORLD TITLE IN IMUS, CAVITE

PhilBoxing.com

Imus Cavite, Philippines - Another highly promising future star Froilan ?The Sniper? Saludar of General Santos City and now fighting out of Imus, Cavite will be seeing action in his first World Youth championship this coming February 19, 2011 against former Thai Flyweight champion Leimpetch Sor Veerapol at the covered court here in an event promoted by Sammy Gello-ani and Sampson Boxing LLC and supported by the Imus, Cavite municipal government headed by the Honorable Mayor Homer Saquilayan.

Saludar gained his measure of success as spectators and boxing fans watched his previous bouts live or through the coverage of Main Event boxing show, and saw a new prospect emerge by displaying back to back spectacular knockout wins against formidable young opponents in Remuel Obidos and Jecker Buhawe in Imus last year.

This time, WBO Asia Pacific flyweight champion Saludar will be tested against a very durable and experienced Thai Youth Flyweight champion Leimpetch Sor Veerapol who had already competed in multiple regional championships against top Filipino contenders who went on to win world champions.

However, the handler of Leimpetch Sor Veerpol informed that when he fought against Brian Viloria, they felt that they had Viloria's numbers in the early rounds of their match was overconfident and got caught. ?But this time it will never happen, we will be prepared against this fight with Saludar, Leimpetch will be ready and will not be too overconfident, he will avenge all his losses in the Philippines by bringing the WBO World Youth title back home to Thailand, and we have the heart to win against him,? informed a member of Team Veerapol.

Promoter Sammy Gello-ani informed that Saludar will surely have his hands full against Veerapol, who at age 22 has already racked up 28 professional fights, 19wins with only eight losses and it was against formidable opponents who have already competed in the elite level with the likes of former two time world champion Brian ?Hawaiian Punch? Viloria, Jhonreil Casimero and Marvin Sonsona.

Gello-ani also pointed out that this will be a big test for Froilan Saludar to go up against a durable contender who has more experience than him. ?We want to test him, test his skills on what level he is at in this stage of his young career and Veerapol is a perfect candidate. If Froilan wins against this formidable opponent and gets past him with flying colors, then he will be on his way to boxing stardome. He really showed tremendous power against his last two opponents, I believe we have something to work with this year towards a world championship, you will surely be hearing more of him," added Gello-ani.

Speaking of his last two opponents, Remuel Obidos and Jecker Buhawe were also considered to be young prospects among fight fans in Manila. Obidos record was 7wins 2losses while Buhawe was 10wins 2 losses and was highly rated in the OPBF. Both fighters were knocked out senseless in the early rounds of their match with Saludar.
