Daniel Cadman training with Tottenham?s Ben Alnwick ahead of his first title fight
PhilBoxing.com Thu, 13 Jan 2011
LONDON (January 12, 2011) - Daniel Cadman has been training with Tottenham?s first team goalkeeper Ben Alnwick ahead of his Southern Area Super Middleweight title fight against champion Paul Morby.
The fight is set to headline the ?Capital Punishment? event promoted by former British and Commonwealth champion Graham Earl at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Saturday 22nd January.
Cadman said ?This is my first title fight and I'm really excited fighting for the Southern Area title, hopefully after winning this it will boost me right up in the ratings and then I can go after the Commonwealth belt which is currently held by George Groves.?
?Training has gone really well it's my first ten rounder but to be honest I think it's going to suit me, training is totally different to what it was like training for Prizefighter as it is over a lot more rounds. So we have been doing a lot more long distance runs and loads of rounds of sparing with Darren Barker, John O?Donnell and John Ryder, who I believe is one to look out for in the future.?
?Also it?s been great training alongside Ben (Alnwick) as he has been passing on some training tips which have helped with my fitness and strength and for a footballer he sure can whack a punch.?
?Myself and my trainer Tony (Sims) have watched a couple of Paul?s fights on DVD and to be fair he looks better than his record suggests. He?s a tricky southpaw but I'm the natural super middleweight and hopefully he won't be able to handle my strength or power.?
?I?m confident that I can start off 2011 by winning this one.? Said Cadman.
Tickets for ? Capital Punishment? on the 22nd January at York Hall are available from www.tkoboxoffice.com or by calling 07717 155707. Prices start at ?35 for unreserved seating and ?50 for ringside.
