NESportsTV.com in association with Mintofight.com is proud to present an online PPV broadcast featuring the return of recent cruiserweight title challenger Brian Minto as he takes on Australian Brawler Pierre Karam in a 10 round cruiserweight fight this Friday, October 29th. Karam replaces Minto?s original opponent Cory Phelps. ?With Pierre Karam being an Australian cruiserweight, I?d like to knock him off before I do the same to their other cruiser Danny Green.? Minto said, referencing his desire to fight current Australian cruiserweight superstar Danny Green. The online PPV will cost $9.99 to view. International conversion rates apply outside the United States. The bout will also be available to purchase on DVD at NESportsTV.com for $20, plus $4.95 shipping & handling. This will mark Minto?s first fight put up a brave effort while losing to titleholder Marco Huck in his cruiserweight debut last May. Prior to that fight, Minto campaigned exclusively as a heavyweight earning noteworthy wins over former title challenger Axel Schulz, Danny Batchhelder, Billy Zumbrun and Vinnie Maddalone. Karam is a native of Australia who has migrated to the United States for training camps at the legendary Kronk Gym in Detroit, Michigan. While there, Karam worked with legendary trainer Emanuel Steward, famed for his work with world champions Thomas ?Hitman? Hearns, Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko amongst many others. The fight will be held in Minto?s hometown of Butler, Pennsylvania. It will be the first time he?s fought in his hometown in over a year and will mark his second fight in the cruiserweight division. The Butler resident decided to move down to cruiserweight after he fought against former heavyweight title challenger Chris Arreola and put up a valiant effort in an all action slugfest before being TKO?d in the 4th round. Outweighed by over 40 pounds in the fight, Emanuel Steward, who was commentating for HBO said, ?Minto?s giving (Arreola) all that he can take and if he was a bigger guy I think that Arreola would be seriously trouble right now.? ![]() |
