CAMP NOTES ROBERT "THE GHOST" GUERRERO

RANKED #1 BY THE WORLD BOXING ORGANIZATION
(GILROY, CA) October 21, 2010 - Former Three-time World Champion, Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (27-1-1, 18 KOs), has stepped up his training camp in preparation for his upcoming showdown with 2004 Olympian, Vicente Escobedo (22-2, 14 KOs).
While hosting camp in his hometown of Gilroy, California, Guerrero's been running the usual mountains that have kept him in great shape during past fights. Trainer, Ruben Guerrero, believes Robert has taken his boxing skills to the next level as he went on to say, "Roberts looking great in sparring. He says he feels real comfortable at lightweight. Together we're working hard and I can see the improvement on everything we've been doing. His timing is right on and I expect a great performance from him on fight night."
After his latest unanimous decision against future Hall of Famer and former Four-time World Champion Joel Casamayor, Robert Guerrero can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Recently ranked #1 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Guerrero stated, "The winner of this fight puts himself in a great position to challenge the winner of Marquez vs. Katsidis for the WBO world title. I understand that this is my golden opportunity to take my career to the next level and shoot for my forth world championship. Escobedo, I believe, is going to be in the best shape of his life. That being said, I'm mentally and spiritually going to give everything I got to get prepared for this fight. Training camp has been hard, but I feel great."
Guerrero and Escobedo both hail from Northern California and faced each other three times as amateurs. This bout will be their first meeting as professionals.
Robert Guerrero vs. Vicente Escobedo, a title elimination bout, is scheduled for Saturday, November 6, on HBO Boxing After Dark. For more information visit www.goldenboypromotions.com.
