Fill-Am Hawaii based trainer Bobby Villaver elated over Sod's victory, eyes WV2 next

PhilBoxing.com

Lop Buri, Thailand ? Fil-Am Hawaiian trainer Bobby Villaver has another victory under his tutelage as another of his student that he trained prevailed by overwhelming Filipino prospect Rey Las Penas of General Santos City just recently at Lawoe Technology School, Lop Buri Thailand earlier today.

Rey Las Pinas was well known for his match with Ninoo Magboo for the vacant WBO Oriental bantamweight last April 17, 2010 and lost in a close fought split decision that could a gone his way.

However, on this day Rey Las Pinas had no answer for the hard hitting defending champion Sod Kokietgym who was the more experience and accurate puncher of the two.

It was surely a fight from the get-go as both fighters did not hesitate to throw bombs on the initiating round.

Although Las Pinas was the younger of the two and had his moments on the second round hurting the defending champion briefly, the match clearly separated the men from the boys as the defending champion Sod Kokietgym took him to school through-out the fight.

The scores were unanimous as both Thai WBO Officials Pichit Wong Poramet and Yongyuth Sripradu had it 118-110 and the third judge Sirichai Posuwan had it 119-109.

The highly WBO rated and former world contender Sod Kokietgym who was the primary sparring partner for recently crowned WBC Silver world champion Terdsak ?Pittbull? Jundaeng is both trained by Fil-Am Hawaiian based Bobby Villaver who was ecstatic of Sod?s win, as he informed that he is eagerly eyeing up a challenge with ?WV2? Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. early next year under his tutelage.

?It was sure a sweet victory for Sod against Las Pinas and Las Pinas is no slouch, he surely a fighter to watch out for and to be reconed with at Philippines, however we surpass that now and I am really looking forward to a fight with Vazquez, Jr., under my tutelage, I do see lot of flaws and weakness in WV2, and it should be a great fight?. Said Villaver.

Kokiet Panichayarom who is the manager / promoter of Sod Looknongyangtoy Kokietgym, had informed that he will be off to Cartagena Columbia to discuss with the WBO President at their convention an offer to the world champion Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. to defend his WBO title at Thailand or to be mandated as the next challenger for Vazquez, Jr.

WV2 recently disposed of Ivan ?Choko? Hernandez on an inspiring eleventh round TKO, Hernandez was the former super flyweight king who had a record of (28-5-1, 17 KOs). The fight took place on Saturday night at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, Florida.
