PhilBoxing.com

The WBC Youth World lightweight Champion Gabor Veto (21/Varpalota) will face the experienced African Rajabu Maoja (34/Tanzania) for the vacant East & Central African Professional Boxing Federation lightweight title on October 2nd , the fight dubbed as ?Road to Glory ? will take place in the legendary Charter Hall in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Hungarian prospect Gabor Veto faces the biggest challenge of his boxing-career when he steps in the ring to face the experienced African opponent in Africa.

Rajabu Maoja is an experienced boxer having faced former World Champion Veerapol Sahaprom and the WBO World Champion Ratanachai Singwancha (both from Thailand) Maoja has contested for the PABA (WBA-Asia) and WBO Oriental title in the Phillippines and Thailand.

The East & Central African Professional Boxing Federation title (which includes countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) is recognized as the 2nd highest reputated title in the continent of Africa. behind the WBC African Boxing Union title.

The bout will be promoted by celebrated promoter Julius Odhiambo, who said ? I am proud to present this ring-battle between WBC Youth World Champion Gabor Veto and one of Africa?s top fighters in Rajabu Maoja, we estimate that over 4.000 fans will show up to watch this contest for the East & Central African Professional Boxing Federation lightweight title. Veto will need to give a great performance because Maoja is not an easy opponent. Maoja is eager to upset Veto and claim the belt. Gabor Veto has created great public interest and a lot of dignitaries will be coming to the show including the Prime Minister, the Sports Minister of the Republic of Kenya and the Hungarian Ambassador to Nairobi as well as a lot of media representatives.?

Gabor Veto : ? After my successful fight with Philipp Schuster on the Klitschko- Peters undercard in Frankfurt, the IBF President Darryl Peoples, the WBO President Francisco Varcarcel and K2 Promoter Tom Loeffler came to congratulate me. Now I have to concentrate only on my upcoming bout in Africa against their local hero Rajabu Maoja. I saw his tough bout with World Champion Veerapol Sahaprom, where Maoja showed how dangerous a fighter he can be. I feel in good shape and I hope to make it a short night - loosing is no option!?

Rajabu Maoja : ? I am confident that I will take home this belt. I have speed and power and above all experience compared to Veto. We will be well prepared for this fight,? emphasized Maoja at the first press conference.

The fight ?Road to Glory? between Veto and Maoja will be telecast live by television stations Nation TV, KTN and KBC to all African countries.
