TELEFUTURA BRINGS BACK THE "CLASSICS" THIS FRIDAY

OSCAR DE LA HOYA VS. RICARDO MAYORGA AND JHONNY GONZALEZ VS. MAURICIO PASTRANA AIR ON SPECIAL EDITION OF "S?LO BOXEO TECATE"
LOS ANGELES, September 23 - Golden Boy Promotions will bring back the classics once again this Friday, September 24, as a special edition of TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" will let fight fans re-live the memorable 2006 battle between "The Golden Boy" Oscar de la Hoya and Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga. It will also re-air the explosive 2008 showdown between former World Champions Jhonny Gonzalez and Mauricio Pastrana.
The special presentation of "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate and will air on TeleFutura at 11:30pm ET / PT (10:30pm CT).
On May 6, 2006, boxing superstar Oscar de la Hoya scored one of the biggest wins of his career when he stopped Junior Middleweight World Champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga in the sixth round of their heated grudge match in Las Vegas.
Mexican knockout artist Jhonny Gonzalez was in spectacular form on May 16, 2008, when he traveled to Cabazon, California to stop former world titlist Mauricio Pastrana in four fast-paced rounds.
In addition to the fights re-airing in their entirety, "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" will begin airing special vignettes highlighting the top up-and-coming prospects in the sweet science today. In a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of boxers in and out of the ring, TeleFutura will show boxing fans what its like to live a normal life while training in the big leagues of the boxing industry. This week short special will feature up and coming prospect Luis Ramos.
